The End is not The End - Poems for end of life and beyond
There comes a time when each of us is faced with death, whether it is our own or someone else. So, why is it that so many people struggle to talk about and prepare for what is inevitable? Author and poet, Brendan Conboy lives with a life-limiting illness and has stared death in the face at least four times. His experiences and the experiences of close friends losing family members inspired this collection of poetry.
The book looks at the five stages of grief - 1. Denial 2. Anger 3. Bargaining 4. Depression 5. Acceptance
There are 3 sections, each with 16 different poems, the sections are - 1. Before (in the waiting) 2. Goodbye (in the passing) 3. After (in the mourning). These groupings are not definitive and you will find that most of the poems can be read anytime.
As Brendan is a Christian, some of the poems are profoundly such, though the majority have no Christian message. Brendan hopes these poems will bring hope and comfort to all who live with grief and inspire the reader to express their feelings through writing their own poetry.
