Created to be creative...
What better way to celebrate the last and extra year of my live than through a poetic story. I hope that you will join me for a short 40 minute session on Zoom. I will share eight different poems that will give you a glimpse of what I experienced and survived on 11th January 2023. I thank God for the breath that He puts in my lungs - come and glorify Him.

Poetry Workshops
In 1986, God gave Brendan the gift of rhyming words and when God gives us something, we have to make sure that we share it with others. Performing poetry is the obvious way to share the gift but Brendan also wants to encourage, inspire and empower others to draw closer to God through listening to HIS poetic voice and being open to being used to create. Why shouldn't we hear God's poetic voice for today? God spoke poetically to David, which resulted in many of the Psalms. You may not write a Psalm, but God can still use you to convey His message to His people today.

Background information: Brendan had a tumultuous childhood. His father was a violent alcoholic and Brendan lived in fear. He too become violent, a school bully and was excluded from school. His dad stopped drinking when he was 15 years old. The year before that, he had planned to end his life, but God intervened.
As a young man, he ran his own construction company for 10 years and learnt much about business, with a workforce of 27 men. At 26, he invited Jesus into his life and God give him the gift of rhyming words. He used this gift for 25 years as a Christian Rap Artist, performing in schools. Simultaneously, God called him into Youth Work and he co-founded an innovative youth project called ‘The Door’, based in Stroud.
Under Brendan’s leadership, The Door became the biggest youth service provider in the Stroud District and Brendan rose to the level of CEO.
At age 48, Brendan was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease. He knew then that it was only a matter of time before he was unable to cope with the demanding role of a CEO. At the age of 55, in 2015 he stepped down, unsure of where God would lead him next.
A new mission: God told Brendan that He hasn’t finished with him yet and told him to use the skills and tools that He had given him. Brendan realised that God wanted him to write and that the Holy Spirit would guide him in what and how to write. Over the last 7 years, Brendan has written and published 10 books, including the whole of the book of Psalms in rhyme and 3 other poetry books.
Brendan has a heart to share his experiences with others and he does this mainly through performance poetry and testimony. He talks about his health struggles, both physical and mental, in a way that people relate to and say, “You have given me the words that I could not express.”
He is also evangelistic, with a simple gospel message that connects with any audience. His testimony is powerful and needs to be heard. His autobiography, ‘The Golden Thread’ has been read and changed lives all over the world.
