Created to be creative...
It was a delight to have Brendan Conboy as our speaker at the recent Bath Chapter dinner of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship when he shared his testimony. Being raised to think violence was normal, becoming a bully, being excluded from school, smoking from age 10, and then alcohol. Even contemplating suicide. Then he met Jesus and everything changed. What a remarkable testimony. It was funny in parts and sad in parts. He held the attention of his listeners. I have no hesitation in recommending Brendan as an after-dinner speaker. |
Brendan is an engaging speaker with several encounters with angels, financial miracles and unusual gifts from God. |
Brendan took to the stage at a young age as a DJ before playing in several musical projects. He has been an engaging, inspirational, motivational speaker throughout his life. He feels at home behind the microphone whether it be sharing aspects of his life (testimony), presenting his own rhythmic poetry, talking about men's mental health or delivering a fun and creative poetry workshop.
In his early years as a young child and teenager he lived in fear of his alcoholic father. He learnt that violence was normal and became a violent bully. As young as 14 years old he struggled with mental health and even planned to end his own life. When he was 15 years old, his dad stopped drinking and things started to change.
At 26 years old he invited Jesus into his life and his mind was transformed and is still being transformed. His story goes from troubled teenager to charity founder and CEO, a journey with incredible miracles and struggles.
Brendan is a natural encourager and motivator. Although he has struggled with both mental and physical health issues, he uses those experiences to support others, especially through men's ministry.
He talks at both Christian and secular events with talks that can be tailored to suit the needs of the group.
Examples of talks include:
1. Christian testimony
2. Tough Stuff - Sharing his own mental health struggles and suicide survival journey. Especially suited to men's groups (Christian & secular)
3. Impartation of Biblical/Christian life style
4. Rhyming poetry workshops
As at a poet, his message has four basic themes:
1. Christian 2. Health (mental & physical) 3. Social Issues 4. Life Observation
Brendan has a powerful testimony of overcoming and his preferred event is to weave his life stories with his powerful, punchy poetry to provide an event that will change lives. His life has been a fascinating journey and as with any journey, it provides an abundance of stories. From the miraculous, wonderful and joyous, to the darkest moments of despair. He relates to all people at all levels and talks to numerous groups, including: Mothers Union, Rotary, charitable organisations, churches, youth groups, mens groups, Christian conferences, etc.
