Author

For years, I carried a dream that I never fully stepped into—not because I lacked ability, but because of something far more subtle: belief.

After my mum passed away in 2011, we found the beginning of her life story, handwritten in just a few pages. It was raw, honest, and deeply moving. That moment planted a seed in me—I felt inspired to write my own story one day.

But when I shared that dream with someone I trusted, their response stopped me in my tracks: “You could never be an author.”

They said it with such confidence that I accepted it without question. From that point on, a barrier was built in my mind. I didn’t just doubt my ability—I quietly decided it wasn’t possible for me.

Years later, I proved that statement wrong by writing and publishing my first book. Yet even then, I struggled to call myself an author. That one comment still echoed in my thoughts, convincing me it was just a one-off, nothing more.

Looking back, I can see the truth clearly: it wasn’t lack of skill that held me back—it was a lie I had believed.

Over time, that lie was challenged and eventually broken. I discovered that the “rules” I had accepted weren’t true at all. More importantly, I came to understand that the gifts and abilities I had were given for a purpose—and they were meant to be used, not buried under doubt.

Once that barrier fell, everything changed. Writing began to flow, ideas came to life, and what once felt impossible became natural. I no longer write to prove anything to anyone—I write to share truth, to encourage others, and to give glory to God.

Today, I confidently say: I am an author.

And if there’s one thing my journey has taught me, it’s this—never let someone else’s limitation define your calling.
